Hi, I'm Heather, 23, and I am holding a knitting group in the evenings in Stony Stratford, fortnightly each month.

Our group kicks off on the 5th June, which is a Thursday. We begin at 7pm, and finish at 9 pm. The group is designed to be informal and a good one to drop in on, so if you're a commuter to London and can only make an hour, or you have kids and can only get a sitter early on in the evening, please feel free to come for when you can. The meeting on the 5th will be our first, so far we have a group of five or six people, women and men, of a varied age demographic, so feel welcome to join us.

We will be meeting at the Bull Hotel on Stony Stratford High Street, Chris and Tom, the lovely new owners are letting us use their comfy pub surroundings and the bar stocks some nice tipple for anyone who feels their lace knitting may well be improved by some vino!

There is no set format for the group, crochet-ers and needlework junkies are appreciated, and we welcome anyone who wishes to have a go at knitting for an evening or to to decide if they like it. I am there to help anyone who I can (I have been knitting for two years, and still feel like a total newbie!) and I will have spare wool and needles from my stash to help people get going.
